Some trips are beautiful. Others are fun. But this one becomes a story you’ll be telling for the rest of your life. The Fort Flatters Expedition isn’t a “nice off-road tour with a little hotel.” This is: grinding it out, navigating, working together, improvising — and at night, in the bivouac, feeling that you’re truly out there. This is an expedition, not a tour.
You’ll drive deep into the Sahara, to a place with an almost mythical charge: Fort Flatters — “the point where the desert said no.” That line alone sets the tone: this is rugged, vast, and steeped in history. This is epic.

So what makes this expedition “next level”?

1. Three missions, one true journey. The route is designed as an expedition made up of “missions” through different desert regions, with one clear goal: reach Fort Flatters, then push on. Think: hammada, reg (stone desert), wadis, djebels, and endless seas of dunes.
2. Navigate like the old days (with a backup). The spirit of this trip is old-school exploration. Navigation is done using maps and a sun compass, just like the desert teams of the past. Yes, you’ll have GPS with GPX tracks — but mainly as a backup, and so you can prove at home that you actually did it.
3. 5,000 km — mostly sand / rock / dunes. This isn’t “a quick little loop.” Expect around 5,000 km, largely across stone desert, sand desert, and dunes, with an overall difficulty level of medium to high.
4. Self-reliance isn’t a slogan here. No catering. No “everything is taken care of” vibe. Each team is responsible for its own meals (of course you can team up and share supplies). And your vehicle needs real autonomy: at least 1,000 km range on tarmac (preferably more), with support vehicles carrying extra fuel.
5. Fuel Caché: treasure hunting in the Sahara. One of the special elements is the Fuel Caché: a hidden fuel-and-water depot that you must locate (using hints and coordinates). This is exactly what makes it feel like an expedition: not just following — but searching and solving.

Who is this for? Not everyone. This is for people who:

• get excited about reading dunes and choosing lines,
• understand that teamwork gets you further than ego,
• don’t make drama when it gets tough,
• would rather have sand in their shoes than a tight schedule.
