The 1000 Dunes of the Sahara An epic off-road journey in Tunisia for 4wd. The title of the trip perfectly describes the endless sea of dunes that awaits us in the Grand Erg Oriental. In short Data Oct 24 - Nov 2, 2026 Dec 5 - 14, 2026 Dec 26, 2026 - Jan 4, 2027
A group 4x4 off-road trip to Tunisia, which we might also call "the Thousand Dunes of the Sahara." As my Approved Partner says: 'Travel with us, safely, with the assistance and experience of those with twenty years of off-road touring in the Sahara behind them. 'With our own and local assistance services, we can intervene to resolve those unfortunate mechanical breakdowns, obviously depending on the severity of the breakdown and the spare parts available. Travelling we will go back in time, savouring the magical atmosphere of the great Saharan expeditions and we will travel along ancient caravan routes until we reach our beloved great dunes , located between the areas of Tiembaine, El Mida and Ain Ouadette . After disembarking at the port of Tunis, we'll take a road transfer and spend the night in a fabulous 5-star hotel. We'll wake up early and head south, traveling along unfamiliar roads and trails to see a slightly unusual side of Tunisia, until we reach our true starting point: Douz, the gateway to the desert. From here, after the necessary and necessary supplies, we will set off for a full immersion in the sand, crossing one of the most fascinating areas of the Tunisian desert, until we reach Lake Ain Ouadette, where we can take a refreshing dip in the warm water of its legendary pool. We will then head towards sand and dunes towards Tiembaine and the Parc du Jebil , until we return to Douz . We will then go back up on asphalt towards Tunis, crossing small villages belonging to past centuries and there will be time to visit the most typical medinas, before getting back on board the ferry that will take us back to Genoa . The combination of the splendid panoramas, the nights under the starry sky, the fascinating nature, the history of these places and the passion that Organisation puts into his travels, will make this an unforgettable adventure. Overnight stays will be conducted according to the standards we consider best! When we stay in hotels, they will be 4- and 5-star, while for the bivouacs , the stars will be in the millions, choosing the best spots, with the expertise of our guides. In the bivouacs, the tents and vehicles of the individual crews will be positioned at their discretion and imagination, perhaps not too far from the "base camp," which is set up near the support vehicle. During periods of high winds and extreme cold, a tent will be set up where you can eat and chat in the shade. Dinner and breakfast will always be prepared by the Support Team'. |
