And drive From winding mountain roads to challenging river crossings, every moment of this journey offers a new challenge and a chance to test your off-road skills while surrounded by the enchanting beauty of Italy's nature. Highlight: Trasimeno Lake Trasimeno, is known for its picturesque beauty and peaceful atmosphere. The lake is surrounded by charming towns such as Castiglione del Lago and Passignano sul Trasimeno, which offer beautiful views of the water and surrounding hills. The area is popular for water sports, boat trips and lakeside walks. Moreover, it has historical significance due to the Battle of Lake Trasimeno in 217 BC, in which the Carthaginian Hannibal won an important victory over the Romans. Highlight: Val d'Orcia An enchanting valley in Tuscany, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Truly breathtaking landscapes with rolling hills, cypress avenues, extensive vineyards and characteristic farms. It has become a symbol of the classic Tuscan countryside with picturesque towns such as Pienza, Montalcino and Montepulciano. Val d'Orcia is loved for its serene beauty and is considered one of the most scenic areas of Tuscany. Highlight: Gran Sasso The Gran Sasso is an imposing mountain range in the Apennines, located in the Abruzzo region. There are majestic peaks, including the Corno Grande, the highest peak of the Apennines. The area also hosts a National Park with diverse flora and fauna. The Gran Sasso attracts adventurers for its challenging hiking trails, rock climbing opportunities and breathtaking views. History buffs visit the Campo Imperatore where Mussolini was imprisoned and liberated in 1943. Highlight: Costa dei Trabocchi This is an enchanting stretch of coastline in the regions of Abruzzo, Molise and Apulia with rocky cliffs and small coves. But what really makes this coastline special are the 'Trabocchi', old wooden fishing platforms built on stilts above the sea. These were used to catch fish when the sea was too rough to sail out, but today some have been converted into restaurants, where you can enjoy delicious fresh seafood while looking out over the Adriatic Sea. For me it's kind of like eating on an old pirate ship. A deep impression This off-road journey through central Italy promises not only excitement and adventure, but also a deep cultural immersion in one of Italy's most enchanting regions. Get off the beaten track and create memories that will last a lifetime. |
Adventure I have been to Italy many times and I have driven a lot off-road and eaten delicious food there even more often. Italy is the motherland of my childhood. I would like to introduce you to the country where my heart lies. Welcome. Activity 4x4/4WD e/o motor off-road/all-road holiday with a focus on delicious food. Group size In principle, as a guide I want our trip to be very cool and also safe. For safety's sake, I want to be able to keep an overview. The number of participants is less decisive than the number of vehicles. In case of too many vehicles we can split the group and bring an extra guide. Level No off-road experience is necessary. Technically often easy paths, so green lane-like. However, there are also sometimes more difficult paths. But everything can be done with the right car. Beginners but also advanced students who are happy to take it easy can participate. Please make sure that you can mentally tolerate narrow paths with deep, steep cliffs and very sharp hairpins. NB! It's about off-road and nature. Due to weather conditions, paths can become too difficult and you sometimes have to turn around and look for something else fun. This is part of the adventure. Accommodations Campsites with or close to good restaurants? Inns or hotels? Or wild camping in the wild. A blend? Just shout. It is tailor-made. It will be your party. Own 4x4 There are a few things that are important for your 4x4. First of all, the car is equipped with low gearing, otherwise you simply won't be able to climb the steep paths here and there. You must have at least 50/50 tires and your car must be slightly higher on its legs. More ground clearance is sometimes useful. You logically have a tow rope and a shovel with you. If your 4x4 has more adjustments and/or you are an advanced rider, you are of course welcome if you would like to take it a little easier on slightly easier tracks. Rental 4x4 Contact us and I will see if I can arrange a suitable rental 4x4 for you. Own or rental motorcycle In any case, your motorcycle is a street-legal off-road or all-road motorcycle in a good state of maintenance. Heavier motorcycles can also handle the selected trails. Guidance Guidance and organization by me, Marco Hupkes, The Offroad Guide, with knowledge of routes, country, customs. Guide speaks English, Dutch and Italian, among other languages.
